PARTY DUDE
Adapted from Raphael’s 2021 novella PARTY DUDE
Verging on bankruptcy, an accountant with a gambling problem helps a small airline reach quarterly targets by installing poker machines on their planes. When he must fly to attend an addiction specialist’s gala ball, he takes his life savings to buy her miracle cure, but mid-flight the pilots lose the address to the airport. Stranded in the fuselage with a suitcase of cash and a hungry slot machine he must wait while a mysterious passenger, hired as the event’s major entertainment, makes calls for the doctor’s airstrip coordinates.
Days turn to months soaring immeasurable horizons while the doctor conceals her address to leverage the reluctant entertainer to honour an expired coupon for his Party Dude services. Now, the accountant must persuade The Party Dude to commit to his contract and obtain the runway address before losing everything he has to his own casino creation.
