About Raphael Iacocca
It’s pronounced “eye-ah-coke-ah”. I was raised in Australia reading comics like Casper, Archie, and The Phantom. I flunked film school, joined a circus, a lot of things. I drew comics, painted, wrote novellas aping authors I liked. Among my favourite cartoonists are Johnny Ryan, Tony Millionaire, Daniel Clowes, and Robert Crumb. I also collect prints by Norman Lindsay, and poster art by Rockin’ Jelly Bean. My comics have been published by The Mansion Press FRANCE, and my own imprint Pizza Comics, and I’ve contributed to anthology books, newspapers, and magazines like Yuck! #7, Torpedo #6, and the popular American quarterly Tiki Magazine.
PIZZA COMICS
Pizza Comics was conceived during a sober new year’s eve on the ocean shore of Mooloolaba Australia as we welcomed the year 2022 in. The imprint produces print-only entertainment. The roaring 2020s deserve a new yet reverent update to the underground comics, pulps, and chapbooks of the 20th century.
